About SEEC
Born from curiosity, SEEC became an editorial project that turns information into useful reference points and freer choices.
A brand for seeing more clearly
SEEC — See. Explore. Evaluate. Choose.
Four steps for moving forward without shortcuts or pressure: see where you stand, explore what is happening, evaluate the options and choose for yourself.
SEEC plays with see and seek: looking at what is there, then seeking what matters. This approach carries a simple promise: Find your bearings. Make your choices.
It began with curiosity
SEEC began with a question: how far can artificial intelligence take us when we make the effort to learn how to use it well? That curiosity became a personal challenge and then a practical exploration of the entire publishing process.
The aim was not simply to make a book with AI, but to find out whether its assistance could help produce high-quality content that is genuinely useful to the people who receive it.
From one real situation to a shared need
The first topic grew from the experience of a friend's son who lost his job and found himself in debt. It echoed conversations with EPFL students, including students sharing accommodation in the Lausanne area.
Those discussions showed that difficulty anticipating the real cost of student life was not an isolated problem. That led to the first practical SEEC guide for students in Switzerland: Your Realistic Student Budget.
A useful guide first
The first ambition is to help. The guide is also a way to learn every stage of publishing and, over time, explore a collection of books that remain interesting, reliable and genuinely usable.
Sharing experience can save someone part of the time it took to acquire it. A free guide gains its full value only when it is used; the benefit then belongs to its reader.
AI assists; people remain responsible
Artificial intelligence assists research, writing, translation, illustration and production. It also supports learning through practice. Editorial direction, choices, verification and responsibility remain human.
The AI transparency page explains this approach in more detail.
An independent, bilingual brand
Student budgeting in Switzerland is SEEC's first practical field, not its limit. The brand is designed to support several books, languages, tools and resources without promising what does not yet exist.
The French and English versions are developed in parallel. Both guides and their main resources are now available on the website.
